Finished:
- Portal page
- Easy photo and video embedding
- Nice template
- Like / love button
- Chatbox
- Replace PHPBB Logo with something nice
- Missing notifications on liking a post
- Country flag on profile
- External links open in a new window/tab
- Images open in a lightbox instead of a new page
- Uploaded images are rotated sometimes: added a rotation button
- MP3 Player / radio
- Add some nice smilies
- Mp3 upload page
- Now also possible to upload album art (cd front cover)
- Request songs on our radio page
- Better styling of the recently played list
- Better scaling of the logo and header text
- Chatbox on frontpage
- 5 star rating for Projects & Discographies page

Ongoing:
- Better cd cover retrieval for "recently played" block. Sometimes they don't update, we don't know why.

Discarded:
Photo gallery is removed. Nobody used it.

Please note that for a lot of developments we rely on scripts from the PHPBB community or the Centovacast radio software. Sometimes scripts can be buggy or won't work as expected... If you have knowledge about PHP and think you can help, please contact the admins!

I think the new logo should fit the dimensions of the original phpbb logo. I tried some other logo last night but it screws up the layout if it doesn’t fit

In my opinion a keyboard or synth doesnt usually look good in a logo because its so blocky.

After one year we can see that our forum is not visited that much as we would like. Our plan was to make a community for producers and fans, but there are not a lot of registered fans, and also there is not much participation from our members.

Thanks to Librina this forum is still alive.. a huge THANK YOU to our forum queen

Developments:
In the next months I will try to make the forum more appealing and accessible. I might remove some things we don’t use and try to make the layout more clean.

Also we have plans for a Synthdance record label, so changes will be made to integrate a shop as well.

In the shop I want to give every producer the opportunity to sell products (downloads or cd etc.) but share the same platform and so we will have a versatile collection to offer.

Social media:
For promotion of the website and our future record label and shop we need to reach more fans.

Of course we still have the Spacesynth producers group on Facebook and also the Synthdance FB page.
In addition to that I created a Synthdance Instagram account and a Synthdance YouTube channel**

We must continue to grow our brand and fanbase and try to reach as many people as we can. We have a strong name and platform, let’s use it for the benefit of all of us.

Any ideas for this website are much appreciated, please post your suggestions and thoughts in this topic

OK just a few thoughts. If you really want to make this label work then you need to have a core group of artists who are loyal to the label. Does it really make sense to continue contributing to ZYX and Space Sound records when you are trying to build our own brand right here?

Also whenever this label releases anything on it's youtube channel you have to ensure that https://www.youtube.com/@ELECTRIFY001 doesn't upload it as well stealing your revenue.

I suggest doing this properly and having ISRC codes for all releases on this label.

I think no one must stop participating on other compilations.

The compilation that I want to do is just a small cd with members from the community and not as a competition to the other labels.

When the time comes I will just ask who wants to participate.. if no one wants to participate then that’s also fine by me

That being said…
For the record label in generaI I already have some ideas worked out but need to think this through first.

Basically I want to give producers the opportunity to bring their music to the world. Think of producing low amounts of cd’s instead of having to order 100 at once. Or sharing one 12 inch vinyl with 4 producers (4 tracks on 1 vinyl) and split the costs. Making this more reasonable costs for everyone.

Also I want to build and grow the platform (including social media) so we can all profit from our network to make the music known to the fans. We can all have our own social media, bandcamp, soundclowns etc. but on shared platforms and a shop we can all profit from the attention.

I think negative thoughts can kill a lot of potentially good ideas. There will always be a struggle and mistakes and problems to overcome. Let that not keep us from looking forward and trying

The pirating of music in one way or another will always be there. I am not really bothered by people uploading or stealing videos. If it gets to crazy we can always file a copyright complaint to YouTube.

By the way.. This will never be about money. The times that we could make money with music is long gone.

All of Chris' ideas are quite interesting because they make sense. That doesn't mean we should stop producing music for other compilations too because, you like it or not, they are the only reason our genre still exists. Then, I think a CD (8-10 tracks) for a first move is promising and seeing how it goes we can publish a vinyl later
