A pediatric dentist from Omsk has released an album of relaxation music with motifs of the underwater world
Omich's album "The First Dive" was noticed by the Russian label Sonic Space Records.
Earlier this year, TOP 24 talked about Omsk composer and pediatric dentist Kirill Sawazki, who performed a solo concert under the dome of the Omsk planetarium. Kirill Sawazki, 35, graduated from Omgpu and has been working as a pediatric dentist for 11 years. He has been writing music since 2003. He admits that he was influenced by the bands Kraftwerk, Modern Talking, Savage, Space, French composer and multi-instrumentalist Jean Michel Jarre and others. Previously, the musician performed in the duo Sawazki & Terekhov, which disbanded in 2021. But Kirill continues to write music in the style of Space Ambient, Chill Out and relax music. He worked on the album, which Kirill called "The First Dive", for 16 years. In November of this year, the album was released with the support of the domestic label Sonic Space Records.
"In 2008, I had a dream where I was watching TV, and there they were showing a program about diving into the deepest part of the world's oceans. It inspired me so much that I immediately started coming up with a project and music for it", - admitted the TOP24 composer and dentist.
He added that as a child he watched on TV the documentary program "The Odyssey of Jacques Cousteau" about the exploration of the underwater world by a French researcher and the crew of the ship "Calypso". Omich released the album not under his own name, but called his project "Hydrosphere". He explained that under the name of Kirill Sawazki, he releases music in the style of the 80s and his listeners are already used to it, so he created a separate project for the album in a different style.
The author of the album noted that the hydrosphere occupies most of the surface of our planet, while the world ocean remains largely unexplored. This mysterious underwater world inspired Omich. Therefore, in his album, in nine tracks, you can hear the sounds of the underwater world, the sounds of underwater and surface equipment, inhabitants of the oceans, seas and just the sounds of water. The names of the compositions are appropriate: "Bathyscaphe", "Aquanarium", "Current" and others. When writing music, Kirill fantasized a lot and imagined what the sound might be like in the underwater world.
"I was trying to create an imitation of water droplets, immerse the listener in the aquatic world. There was no specific goal to accurately imitate any sounds related to water, I set the task precisely to convey the atmosphere and sensations themselves", - the interlocutor of TOP24 continued the story.
When listening to this long-play, it's like you're diving into the underwater world in the very bathyscaphe after which one of the tracks is named. In general, the album is really relaxing, and the names of the tracks give rise to pictures in my head — for example, flying over the water surface in the composition of the same title.
