About Laserlight Project

Post by Librina »

Laserlight.jpg
Laserlight is a project of composer Pavel Kuznetsov from the city of Miass. Pavel has been writing music since the distant 80s under various alias (Laserlight, Lightdance, Skysynth, Xmind, Kosmotron).

In 1992, Pavel wrote a kind of sequel to the Laserdance album "Technological Mind", which he really liked, but it seemed too short. For various reasons, the release was published only in 2015 and made an incredible impression on SpaceSynth fans! It was a classic (we can say that in some way even forgotten) space sound with incredible energy from those times! It was from this release, which is called "Change Of Time", that most modern Spacesynth fans learned about this talented musician.

A softer and more relaxing "Moon Album", written back in 1988, was restored and also officially published in 2015 already in digital format. It is one of the variants of the soundtrack to a popular science film. Working title: "We were the first".

The third officially published album is "Exoplanets. Earth 2.0", which was worked on for three years. The album is dedicated to exoplanets that are part of other solar planetary systems. An exoplanet is a planet that orbits a star that is not the Sun. Exoplanets are small and dim compared to stars, and the stars themselves are far from the Sun (the nearest one is at a distance of 4.36 light years from it). Therefore, the first exoplanets were discovered in the late 1980s.

Pavel also promises to restore some of his old projects and albums, so we will have to hear many more magical cosmic melodies that, like stars, can only be seen some time after their birth.

Unfortunately, In Summer 2024, one of the best Spacesynth community friends and spiritual mentor for some its participants, composer Pavel Kuznetsov, known to everyone under the pseudonyms Laserlight, Kosmotron and others, died. In July, he stopped contacting us, and today we learned from his relatives that Pavel is not with us no more. This is a man who was trouble-free and supported everyone with both valuable advice and business. Pavel was not indifferent to the development of the Cosmo-style and he sincerely worried about it, always helping novice authors. Without his help, collections from the "Space Odyssey" series and some other CDs would not have been released.

He was a man of amazing erudition, a polymath, a philosopher. It was enough to talk to him at least a little, as you begin to realize that you are becoming smarter. All these years, Pavel has actively helped in the development of Spacesynth and provided people with tremendous moral support, giving wise advice. Some of us have been in touch with him almost constantly during these 10 years. And now that he's gone, and it feels like the ground has been knocked out from under the feet. So everything around has become meaningless, and everywhere there is only a hopeless abyss where you want to go dive in and never come back from there.

Pavel wanted to do a lot more; he was updating his studio, restoring old albums, and also preparing a lot of new works that were planned to release. There are many unpublished articles and books in his archives that will never see the light of day. Knowing how much unreleased music Pavel has in his desk, his friends pushed him to publish it all sooner, but he never liked to rush, and tried to bring everything to mind as carefully as possible so that it was high-quality and professional, honing the sound to the smallest detail. They joked sometimes that one life is not enough to do everything in time. This is a huge loss for me, for his colleagues, as well as for the entire SpaceSynth community.

Pavel turned 53 in March of this year.

Eternal memory!
