Beat Box is a Swedish record label that has been releasing music since the mid-80s mainly in Italo-disco and Euro-disco styles.
Vinyl Mania is a record store located in the center of Stockholm and specializing in dance and DJ music. In 1984, they founded their own label, Beat Box, which initially focused on American soul, but soon changed its focus to Italy and the nascent Eurodisco wave. In fact, the label did not release any "own" material, but only bought licenses mainly for Italian releases.
One of the store's owners, Fredrik Ramel, was making his own remixes for the label and at some point asked sound engineer Gunnar Silins to help with the remix. This was the beginning of an already legendary collaboration, which, among other things, brought us more than 50 unique "Swedish remixes" of Italian disco hits.
The label has released albums by artists such as Radiorama, Ken Laszlo, Baby's Gang, Fred Ventura, Den Harrow and many others. Among the Spacesynth performers, publications can be noted: Koto, Laserdance, Ciber People, Hipnosis, Proxyon. This is the only label that has released the first three Laserdance albums in excellent quality.
In the early 90s, the label ceased to exist.
