Tau Ceti - Ruins Of Time (released on 01.10.2023)

Dear friends! Let me introduce you a cool Swedish project that has been familiar to me since 2018 & has been very respected by me since 2021. This is Tau Ceti, authored by Thomas Blentarp (or Veberöd). He writes his gizmos in the styles of Chillout, Spacewave, Trance and others close to them. The album, published by him recently, according to him, is heavily inspired by three books: "Children Of Time", "Children Of Ruin" & "Children Of Memory" written by Adrian Tchaikovsky. After listening to this longplay, I must mention that it has become the same sample of high-quality Swedish Spacewave as the previous ones. And, despite the seemingly lugubrious name, it turned out to be generally inspiring a little optimism. And the magnificent "piano" in the composition "Terraforming", & the vocoder, coupled with a female whisper in the track "Searching For A New Home", & the cheerful rhythm in the work "The Voyage Of Gilgamesh" (by the way, which has become my favorite from this album) "say" me that on the "ruins of time" it is still possible to build something. Well, I would even put the creation called "Imir" on a par with the famous slowies from Syntech, so "unearthly" it came out. And in general, the whole release has become "spacey" in its own way, and, catching its wave, you will sail to constellations, planets, galaxies & other cosmic objects. So I highly recommend you to listen to it & accept its beauty & special charm. And I wish the composer to keep on developing his creativity, cultivating his own understanding of what a true Spacewave should be, finding new sound combinations & melodies, moving only forward! May his music find many more new listeners & fans! Yeah!

Marvel83' - Stranger Synths (released on 07.07.2023)

Marvel83’ is a Retrowave act that produces deeply melodic Synthwave, often combining dream-like sounds with powerfully driven rhythms & arrangements. A Prague based Retrowave producer, Jan Hejra (Marvel83’) was born in 1983 in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. He found a passion for electronic music in early childhood, and also has fond memories of seeing films such as "The Neverending Story" & "Ghostbusters" with his mother at the theatre when he was growing up. In particular he remembers having an immediate love for “Crockett’s Theme” by Jan Hammer during these years, a piece of music that would go on to influence & contribute to his journey as a music producer. Later, he would spend every day after school practising (sometimes for 6 hours or more) to refine his skills as a musician & DJ and went on to perform live sets for many years prior to his creation of Marvel83’ in 2016. His early influences include Depeche Mode and Erasure, among many other artists. More recent influences include Miami Nights 1984, Timecop1983 and The Lost Years, an act that inspired his initial decision to begin writing Synthwave with their energetic and exciting soundtrack from Kung Fury. Inspired to create, he started doing his first Retrowave mixes, podcasts & started to produce his first songs. During his career, he has already participated in significant genre shows, collaborated with well-known Synthwave composers, released several EP's & full-length albums, and the most recent one is in now front of you. It received the support of many musician's fans and very positive feedback from them, so let's listen to it and wish the author all the best!

Nostalgic Fantasy - Horizon Joyride (EP) [released on 01.09.2023]

This is a UK West Yorkshire based producer inspired by the 80s, retro sounds and lost films. Influences include: Van Halen, Europe, Michael McCann, Font 242, Jesper Kyd, John Carpenter, Vince Dicola, Brad Fiedel, Harold Faltermeyer, Jan Hammer, Vangelis, & also Tangerine Dream, Futurecop!, Stephen Root, Mick Gordon, Noir Deco & MPM Soundtracks 1982. And this is how he described his mini-release: "After long hiatus, Nostalgic Fantasy returns with "Horizon Joyride". A presentation of fun fruity synth tracks and emotive soundscapes made for daydreamers & wanderer's. This 6 track EP explores multiple facets of emotive themes using retro sounds & synthwork presented as dreamy synth compositions. All tracks written & produced by Nostalgic Fantasy. Simon Sebastian - Floating In Space (released on 13.10.2023)

Simon Sebastian is a Retrofuturistic Synth-music producer from Canberra, Australia. He posted the following description of his album on the Cockos Incorporated Forums site: "I just released my debut album, Floating In Space, an 8-track Chill-Retrowave extravaganza of funky Space-synth tunes. There's a bit of diversity in the songs which range from the chiller side of Synthwave to Chillsynth & with a few Vapor-vibes among other things going on. Production-wise it's all done in the box in Reaper. I've used mostly 707, DMX & Linndrum samples for drums & Arturia VSTs for synths - a combination of their retro emulations (mostly their Juno, DX & Minimoog) but also made good use of Pigments when I needed it". The record combines elements of Space-funk / Kosmische music, Ambient electronica & a little bit of the 80's Vaporwave / Synthwave aesthetic for good measure. I would like to add that this is just an excellent album, listening to it, you seem to travel through time: and in those distant days when Spacey stylistics was just emerging, and at the same time you move into the future, when flights to other planets become something taken for granted! Uniquely: This is one of the best releases of the Autumn in its music segment! Super!
