When posting media links from various resources, such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp or any others, it is necessary to specify the name and preferably a description of the material being published. What is it for? There are several main reasons.
Firstly, if your message consists only of media links, then it will be impossible to find it through the search. The fact is that the search indexes only words, but not links. And even more so, the search can't know what content is enclosed on provided link. Many people use the search to find out if someone has already published this or that track / video on the portal. This is especially relevant when placing music in news topics. Messages without text can't be found through search!
Secondly, let's not forget that this is a forum where it is customary to talk and discuss events. In other words, in addition to the link, your post should carry at least some useful information so that it would be interesting to read it months and even years later. If you don't want to write any comments to the posted link, then at least write the title of this video or track. It's really not difficult.
Thirdly, as practice shows, links don't live forever. Content on YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and other sites is very often deleted by their authors, especially it concerns unofficial channels. If the link / track was signed, then readers, at least, will understand what you wrote about, but at most, moderators can replace the broken link with a working one, if one is found on the Internet, of course, and thus completely restore the post.
Please, let's make this forum interesting and informative!
